We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced paralegal to play an important role on our legal team. You'll draft legal documents such as affidavits, prepare briefs, conduct legal research for trial preparation, and keep case files and other important information neatly organized and easily accessible. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issues
  • Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits
  • Take care of administrative tasks such as answering phones and maintaining an organized filing system for all legal documents
  • Coordinate law office activity, including the drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
  • Help lawyers prepare for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, assisting with client meetings, filing motions, conducting research on legal articles, and organizing and coordinating witnesses
  • Document Preparation: Draft and maintain a high volume of legal documents, including Wills, Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Healthcare Directives.
  • Probate Administration: Open probate proceedings, prepare petitions for administration, track court deadlines, and manage the valuation and distribution of estate assets.
  • Real Estate Support: Prepare deeds, affidavits, and closing statements; coordinate title searches and property transfers related to estate settlements.
  • Client Engagement: Conduct thorough client intake interviews to gather asset information and provide regular status updates with professionalism and discretion.
  • Legal Research & Filings: Conduct legal research on case law and state-specific regulations. File motions, pleadings, and other court documents via e-filing systems.
  • File Management: Maintain organized physical and digital case files, ensuring all compliance calendars and deadlines are strictly met.
  • Handle e-filing and document recording processes with Florida courts.

Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education will receive preference
  • ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired
  • Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills, and time-management skills
  • Education: Degree in Legal Studies or a related field; Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
  • Experience: Three years of experience specifically in probate, estate planning, and/or real estate law. Strong knowledge of Florida probate law and procedure.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with legal document management (such as Practice Master) and probate software (Westlaw Form Builder).
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities and strong interpersonal communication skills for interacting with grieving families and professional partners.
  • Must submit to a background check.
