Director, Americas Integration Lead

Grant Thornton is seeking a Director, Americas Integration Lead to join the team. 

The Director, Americas Integration Lead is accountable for integration delivery across the Americas portfolio as part of the Global Integration Management Office (IMO). The Director oversees integrations primarily through program managers assigned to individual transactions, while directly leading selected integrations based on complexity, risk, or resourcing needs.

The Director serves as the primary IMO contact for the Americas and works with acquired-entity leaders, regional and market leadership, functional executives, and external advisors. The role leads the Americas integration team, allocates resources across concurrent integrations, and ensures each program follows the IMO’s governance, tools, reporting standards, and operating cadence while adapting execution to transaction and market requirements.

Americas Integration Delivery

• Provide oversight and accountability for integration delivery across the Americas portfolio, including current and future markets added through acquisition, from pre-close planning through Day 1, stabilization, and transition to business ownership.
• Lead and develop the program managers responsible for the day-to-day management of individual integrations, ensuring clear ownership, consistent execution, and timely escalation.
• Directly manage selected integrations based on transaction size, complexity, risk, or resourcing needs.
• Review and challenge integration plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and status reporting across the portfolio.
• Establish expectations for governance, workstream coordination, decision-making, and executive reporting, and ensure program managers apply them consistently.
• Manage priorities, capacity, and cross-program dependencies across concurrent integrations, adjusting assignments and sequencing as needed.
• Coach program managers through complex stakeholder, execution, and escalation issues while holding them accountable for delivery.
• Ensure consistent use of IMO playbooks, program-management tools, RAID logs, templates, and reporting standards across all Americas integrations.

Regional Team Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop the Americas integration team, including program managers, change management, and program support resources.
• Set clear expectations for delivery quality, ownership, escalation, and stakeholder management across the team.
• Assign program managers and other resources to integrations based on transaction complexity, risk, timing, and capacity.
• Review portfolio demand and team capacity, identifying resource gaps and adjusting priorities or external support as needed.
• Build a scalable regional delivery capability through hiring, onboarding, development, performance management, and succession planning.
• Direct third-party advisors and contractors, ensuring their work is integrated with the internal team and aligned with IMO standards.

Global IMO Alignment and Governance

• Serve as the primary Americas representative within the Global IMO, providing visibility into portfolio status, risks, resource needs, and upcoming integration activity.
• Participate in global governance and operating cadences, escalating material risks, issues, and decisions with clear recommendations.
• Translate Global IMO standards, tools, and playbooks into practical regional execution requirements.
• Provide Americas feedback and lessons learned to improve global integration methods, templates, and reporting.
• Coordinate with global integration, communications, change management, and other shared resources to align support across the Americas portfolio.
• Ensure regional practices remain consistent with Global IMO standards while adapting execution for transaction-specific and market requirements as the Americas portfolio evolves.

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is preferred but not required.
• 12 years of experience leading complex, cross-functional programs, including significant experience supporting or leading M&A integrations from pre-close planning through Day 1, stabilization, and transition to business ownership. Experience overseeing multiple concurrent transactions or large-scale programs is strongly preferred.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing program managers and integration professionals, and managing internal resources, external advisors, and third-party service providers.
• Ability to directly manage complex or high-risk integrations when required.
• Experience establishing integration governance, managing cross-functional workstreams, and overseeing milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and executive reporting.
• Strong executive communication, judgment, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills, with demonstrated ability to influence senior executives, functional leaders, and acquired-entity leadership in a matrixed environment.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively across multiple transactions, business units, and markets within an evolving Americas portfolio.
• Professional-services experience and familiarity with member-firm structures are preferred, but not required.
• Ability to travel across the Americas as required to support current and future integrations.

• Predictable integration delivery against approved milestones, governance expectations, and transition requirements.
• Timely identification and escalation of material risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions, supported by clear recommendations.
• Effective deployment, development, and performance of program managers and the broader Americas integration team.
• Consistent application of IMO standards, tools, and reporting across integrations, with appropriate flexibility for transaction and market needs.
• Strong stakeholder confidence among business, functional, and acquired-entity leadership.

• This position may be based in any Grant Thornton office location within the United States. The role supports integrations across the Americas, with geographic coverage expected to evolve as the firm expands through acquisitions.

The base salary range for this position is between $187,500 and $312,500. Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton’s discretion, and it is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, job -related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity. At Grant Thornton, compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Salary : $187,500 - $312,500
