Billing Specialist (Legal) - Hybrid, onsite 3 days per week in Minneapolis

Position Overview
Reporting to the accounting leadership team, this role focuses on preparing and processing client invoices, supporting billing operations, and assisting with trust/retainer account administration. The position requires strict adherence to established procedures and a high level of discretion when handling sensitive financial and client information.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate periodic billing cycles, including generating pre-bills and final client invoices
- Manage assigned client billing matters, including exception handling and electronic billing processes
- Produce and support custom billing reports for internal stakeholders and clients
- Assist with administration of client retainer/trust accounts, including deposits and disbursements
- Respond to billing inquiries from both internal team members and external clients
- Support cash application processes and provide backup for check handling and deposits
- Contribute to various accounting and billing-related tasks as assigned by leadership
- Maintain proficiency in billing systems, electronic billing platforms, and internal procedures
- Utilize standard office tools and equipment to support daily operations
Qualifications & Skills
- 2 years experience as a Billing Specialist in a law firm is required
- Elite 3E proficiency required
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
- Proficiency with data entry and general computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to operate a 10-key keypad efficiently
- Typing speed of approximately 45 words per minute or higher
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues via phone and email
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Reliable attendance and commitment to team responsibilities
Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
