Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all bar staff, including bartenders, servers, and support team members, fostering a positive team environment focused on excellence in service.
- Oversee food preparation and beverage service to ensure quality standards are consistently met or exceeded.
- Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize profitability.
- Operate POS system (Toast POS) for accurate cash handling, order processing, and sales tracking.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with health regulations at all times.
- Coordinate shift schedules, manage staffing levels, and handle interviewing processes for new hires.
- Train staff on food handling procedures, customer service excellence, and operational protocols to enhance team skills.
- Oversee kitchen management during service hours, ensuring efficient food production and timely delivery of orders.
- Implement budgeting strategies to control costs while maintaining high-quality service standards.
- Foster a vibrant hospitality environment that encourages guest engagement and repeat business.
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly to resolve issues effectively while maintaining a positive guest experience.
- Organize special events such as banquets or work events to expand revenue streams.
- Collaborate with management on marketing initiatives and promotional activities to boost bar patronage.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant or bar management, with a strong background in food service management and supervising teams in quick service & fast food restaurants or casual dining settings.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen management.
- Hands-on experience with POS systems and proficient cash handling skills required.
- Demonstrated ability in inventory control, budgeting, and food safety compliance within the food industry.
- Strong leadership qualities with experience in staff training & development, interviewing, and performance management.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence in both casual dining and fine dining environments.
- Ability to manage shift operations efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety standards.
- Knowledge of hosting operations or banquet management is a plus.
- Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred but not required.
