Job Summary
Grant Gardens is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Specialist to support and enhance our technological infrastructure within our residential treatment environment. As an IT Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining hardware and software systems, training and consultation for staff, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting the overall IT needs of our organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive technical support to staff and management, addressing hardware, software, and network issues promptly and effectively.
- Troubleshoot software problems across various operating systems including Windows and macOS, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Manage computer systems and peripherals, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of hardware components.
- Maintain and support computer networking infrastructure such as LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), DNS (Domain Name System), and firewall configurations.
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPO), Microsoft Windows Server environments, Linux systems, and network security protocols like TCP/IP and Meraki devices.
- Utilize tools such as SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, Jira, and Help Desk platforms to track issues and streamline workflows.
- Support mobile devices and ensure connectivity across various platforms while maintaining security standards.
- Assist in the management of IT infrastructure components including switches, routers, servers, and other network devices to optimize performance.
- Collaborate with team members to develop solutions that improve system efficiency and user experience while maintaining high levels of customer service.
Experience
- Proven experience in providing IT support within a professional environment, with a focus on desktop support and network administration.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows (Windows Server) and macOS, as well as Linux environments.
- Familiarity with computer hardware components, software troubleshooting techniques, and enterprise management tools such as SCCM and BMC Remedy.
- Knowledge of computer hardware, software, computer networks, network administration, network installation, computer troubleshooting, computer viruses remediation and security, e-mail and internet programs
- Experience configuring and managing network devices such as routers, switches (including Meraki), firewalls, VPNs, DNS servers, and TCP/IP protocols.
- Ability to install and administer computer hardware, software and networks.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical issues quickly and develop effective solutions with excellent communication skills.
- Prior experience supporting IT infrastructure in a healthcare or residential setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
