Overview
Granite Gallery of the Shoals is seeking an experienced stone fabricator to join our shop team. This position is responsible for the cutting, shaping, polishing, and finishing of granite, quartz, and other solid surface materials used for custom countertops, vanities, and backsplash projects.
The ideal candidate has prior experience in stone fabrication or countertop manufacturing, is comfortable working with heavy materials and fabrication equipment, and understands the importance of accuracy and clean, high-quality finishes.
Daily work includes reading job measurements and templates, operating saws and/or polishing equipment, cutting slabs to specification, and preparing finished pieces for installation. Attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment are essential.
Duties
- Review job orders, templates, and measurements for accuracy
- Layout, measure, and mark stone slabs for cutting
- Operate fabrication equipment including saws, CNC machines (if applicable), and hand tools
- Cut, shape, and polish granite, quartz, and other stone materials
- Create seams, edge profiles, and finished surfaces to specification
- Perform sink cutouts and specialty fabrication work
- Inspect slabs for defects and ensure quality control throughout fabrication
- Dry fit and verify accuracy before sending pieces to installation
- Move, load, and handle heavy stone slabs safely using proper equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fabrication shop
- Work closely with installers and team members to ensure proper fit and finish
- Follow safety procedures and properly maintain tools and equipment
