Wash Plant Operator

Wash Plant Operator is responsible for working in a safe and effective manner. Perform tasks involving safely operate machines that convey, wash, crush & screen aggregate to produce quality sand & gravel at maximum production levels. Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible for operating loaders/heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner. Job may also include trucks, excavators, dozers, graders, compactors and other pieces of equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures. Will need to display a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members. May also operate loader to feed conveyors or load trucks. Summary: Granite Excavation is seeking Wash Plant Operator/Heavy Equipment Operator. Granite is a family owned construction company located in Cascade, ID, as well as operates out of the Treasure Valley area. We specialize in earthmoving, underground utilities, paving, and miscellaneous concrete structures in the public and private sectors. We also aim to provide turnkey GC packages in multiple private industries, as well as acting as General Contractors on complex public works projects. Applicant needs to have a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a drug test. Granite is an equal employment opportunity company.

Primary responsibilities

· Perform preventive maintenance on Crushing and Wash plants

· Repair Washing plants equipment as needed

· Repair breakdowns on Wash plants in a timely manner

· Knowledge of or past experience in wash plant equipment maintenance and operation

· Ability to work long hours, including overtime.

· Safely operate machines that convey, wash, crush & screen aggregate to produce quality sand & gravel at maximum production levels. Will need to display a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members. May also operate loader to feed conveyors or load trucks.

Maintain easements

Perform pre-winter, winter, spring and summer maintenance on roads

Use equipment for snow removal

Use equipment to level roads and ensure proper drainage

Operating equipment safely and efficiently by following proper loading and unload procedures

· Complete all paperwork that may be necessary.

· Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors observed.

Physical Demands

The Wash Plant Operator has a physically strenuous and demanding job. He/she will be lifting, pulling, shoveling and laboring for heavy equipment operators, can include lifting up to 75-100 lbs. The Wash Plant Operator will have to work in all weather, and must be prepared for both extreme heat and cold. The Wash Plant Operator must ensure that all activities are completed in a safe and efficient way.

The Wash Plant Operator must work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat. He/she may at times be exposed to dangerous and/or toxic substances and must take necessary precautions to protect eyes, nose and skin from irritation and infection.

The Wash Plant Operator must work independently and is expected to maintain a schedule of work. Any problems or inconveniences may result in increased stress to complete tasks in a limited time.
