Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Manager / Estimator specializing in countertops to join our dynamic construction team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the planning, estimation, and execution of countertop installation projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management, estimating, and project coordination, with a focus on commercial and residential countertop projects. Duties
- Develop accurate project estimates by analyzing blueprints, schematics, and construction plans for countertop installations.
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to define project scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Prepare detailed proposals and bid submissions utilizing construction estimating software and project management tools.
- Manage the full project lifecycle: contract, templating, slab selection, fabrication, delivery, installation, punch list, closeout
- Build and maintain schedules; coordinate templaters, fabricators, and installers
- Serve as main contact for clients throughout the project
- Review templates and material selections for accuracy before fabrication
- Track material orders, slab inventory, and vendor lead times
- Monitor job costs and change orders; flag overruns early
- Resolve site issues, damaged materials, and customer complaints
- Conduct site visits and final walk throughs
- Ensure safety compliance, including silica dust controls and slab handling
- Manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines
- Maintain invoicing milestones and job status updates
Skills
- 3 years of experience in estimating, preferably in the countertop, stone, or construction industry
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and the Office Suite
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Knowledge of commercial construction bidding processes
- Experience with builders, designers, and big-box referral programs
- Bilingual is a plus
