Job Summary
We are a well-established natural stone countertop fabricator seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Project Estimator to join our team. This role involves reviewing blueprints, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting commercial projects from bid to execution. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and proficiency with estimating and drafting tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and material takeoffs for commercial countertop projects
- Analyze project requirements and identify potential challenges or cost-saving opportunities
- Collaborate with project managers, fabricators, and clients to ensure scope clarity
- Submit timely and competitive bids for commercial projects
- Maintain organized records of estimates, revisions, and project documentation
- Communicate changes, discrepancies, or risks during the estimating process
- Assist in value engineering to optimize cost and material usage
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in estimating, preferably in the countertop, stone, or construction industry
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and Office Suite
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and coordination skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with countertop fabrication, stone materials, or slab optimization
- Associate degree in Construction Management, Drafting/Design, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Knowledge of commercial construction bidding processes
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
