Duties
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process retail sales transactions swiftly and efficiently
- Handle cash register operations including cash handling, cash drawer management, and balancing registers at shift end
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product information
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities and improve customer satisfaction
- Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits of merchandise
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
- Practice professional phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers in a friendly manner
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is highly desirable
- Basic math skills for handling transactions, retail math for pricing adjustments, and balancing cash drawers accurately
- Demonstrated cashiering skills with attention to detail and efficiency
