What are the responsibilities and job description for the West Course Assistant Superintendent position at Grandover Resort & Spa, a Wyndham Grand Hotel?
We are currently seeking a West Course Assistant Superintendent who is ready to make a difference. You must be eager and ready to work hard to maintain the high standards of these courses. This is outdoor work that happens in all types of weather conditions on all seven days of the week. You must be motivated to do a great job.
Reports to: Director of Grounds
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in training staff on safety procedures.
- Plan daily operations both A.M. & P.M. duties.
- Be able to properly apply fertilizer and pesticides.
- Know how to operate Satellite Controllers (TORO).
- Identify localized dry spots, especially on greens.
- Properly train staff on equipment operation.
- Stay up to date on continuing education.
- Communicate well with Management, Subordinates and Guests.
- Able to operate irrigation control system computer and radios.
- Eye for detail to keep grounds, equipment and course clean.
- Basic knowledge of Pump Station and Fertigation System.
- Make sure PPE is worn as required.
- Be in constant communication with the Director of Grounds.
- Notice any disease, weed, insect or personnel issues.
- Be able to operate all equipment in use.
- Assist with record keeping of chemicals application and daily duties performed.
- Supervise employees to make sure all jobs are completed safely.
