The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing all clinical services within the assisted living facility to ensure the highest quality of resident care in compliance with state regulations, company policies, and best practices. This position provides leadership, supervision, and clinical oversight to nursing staff, ensuring safe medication administration, resident assessments, and individualized service planning.
Clinical Oversight
- Conduct and oversee resident assessments, including initial, quarterly, and change-of-condition evaluations
- Develop, implement, and update individualized service plans (ISP) in collaboration with interdisciplinary team
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and ensure appropriate interventions and physician notifications
- Ensure proper medication management, administration, and documentation in accordance with state regulations
Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain compliance with all Oklahoma Assisted Living regulations and survey readiness standards
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all clinical records
- Investigate and report incidents/accidents per regulatory requirements
- Participate in surveys, audits, and plan of correction (POC) development
Staff Supervision and Development
- Supervise, schedule, and evaluate nursing staff (LPNs, CMAs, caregivers)
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback
- Conduct clinical in-services and competency evaluations
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet resident needs
Medication and Treatment Management
- Oversee medication administration systems and audits
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and disposal of medications
- Coordinate with pharmacy providers and physicians
- Monitor for medication errors and implement corrective actions
Quality Assurance / QAPI
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities
- Track and trend clinical outcomes (falls, infections, medication errors, etc.)
- Implement corrective actions to improve care quality
Communication & Coordination
- Serve as liaison between residents, families, physicians, hospice, and outside providers
- Communicate changes in resident condition promptly
- Participate in care conferences and family meetings
