Grand Village is hiring a Full Time or Part time (flexible) Registered Dietitian/Dining Manager. Wage Range $28-$44 hourly depending upon experience. Grand Village consists of 114 nursing home beds and is located in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

Responsibilities-

Dietitians are responsible for the nutrition care of the resident. Menu development, modified diet textures and therapeutic needs of the resident’s nutrition status are of utmost importance. Provides nutrition direction based on the individual care plan of each resident. Complies with licensing guidelines and state and federal regulations. Follows established policies and procedures of the facility.  May assist with the total food service operation for the facility by assisting with preparation, serving and clean-up as directed. Conducts in-services for staff regarding nutrition and compliance.

Essential job responsibilities include:

1. Establishes proper meal plans for the client in accordance with their care plan, personal preference, health, and financial capabilities.
2. Evaluates the health and diet needs of clients we serve.
3. Provides explanations for food and nutrition questions, calculates patient nutritional requirements and analyzes nutritional content of food.
4. Documents in the medical record per charting standards. Participates with the care team for cohesive care of the resident.
5. Integrates proper safety and sanitation techniques as part of the work. Directs dining staff on portion sizes based on the resident nutritional needs.
6. Audits the kitchen for sanitation compliance.
7. Properly operates all food equipment in the food preparation area, and other equipment used in the dining department upon completed training.
8. Assists in meal preparation, serving, and clean-up. Accurately portions food items according to recipe, and provides resident/client with correct diet as specified on diet card.
9. Maintains Registration and License in Minnesota by meeting the CEU requirements.
10. Accommodates resident requests, as able, and responds to resident complaints promptly
11. Ensures quality meals are prepared, cooked, and served to residents, families, guests and employees.
12. Monitors food and supply inventory levels and ordering.
13. Hires, supervises, trains and mentors dining staff as well as maintaining adequate staffing.

 Qualifications

Dietitian

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor degree from an accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) or equivalent experience
• Registered Dietitian and Licensed in the state employed.
• Current valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance (if applicable)
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
• Able to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, Resident’s Bill of Rights, OSHA, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, Right to know, HUD Policy and Procedures, ADA , Fair Housing laws and regulations and SDS

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Food Manager in accordance with MN Department of Health or the ability to obtain within 1 year
• Certified Diet Manager or Dietetic Technician or the ability to obtain within 1 year
• Master’s degree
• Senior care experience as a Registered Dietitian or Licensed Nutritionist
