Grand View (Des Moines, IA): Grand View University Athletic Department is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant position (tuition waiver stipend) starting Fall 2026 semester.
Position Summary:
Grand View University Athletics Department is looking for a qualified candidate for the Game Day Operations Graduate Assistant position. This person will report to the Assistant Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator and the Vice President for Athletics. This person will assist with game day facility set up, special event operations, and game day operations with a focus on oversight of athletic department work study students. The individual will work closely with both internal and external constituents, as well as Grand View University coaching staff, employees, visiting teams, officials, and spectators.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel and Word
- Demonstrated sound organizational and coordinating skills along with ability to be resourceful
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to successfully communicate with the public and university employees.
- Able to multitask when multiple athletic events are taking place at once
- Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and some holidays
Essential Functions:
- Development and execution of game management responsibilities for all home athletic events
- Ensure the facilities are ready for competition including locker rooms, housekeeping, tables, chairs, bleachers, doors, etc.
- Make sure that all game equipment is operational and set up appropriately (i.e. sport specific equipment: basketball hoops, goals, volleyball net, etc.) and anything else pertaining to game day execution
- Greet visiting teams and umpires/referees upon arrival and navigate each to designated locker rooms
- Hiring and Scheduling student workers
- Interview and train qualified individuals to sell tickets and work in various game day positions for all home events.
- Develop plans and execute weekly scheduling of student workers
- Fundraising
- Help solicit sponsors and donations for Athletic Department annual golf outing and other special fundraising events
- Research, set up and run on-line ticketing platform for all home events
- Be familiar with all aspects of platform to ensure any troubleshooting needed can be done in a timely manner
- Ensure on-line ticketing is accurate and operating prior to and during all home events
- Coordinate payment transactions with University Business Office
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletics Director or Vice President for Athletics

All Graduate Assistants are required to be enrolled in a Grand View University masters program prior to start date.
