What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Grand Traverse Refrigeration?
Grand Traverse Refrigeration is pursuing a full-time Controller. This position is a vital member of the leadership team and will require being part of the strategic future planning. They will also be responsible for managing the accounting records and payroll, filing payroll taxes, and the production and analyses of financial statements and reports critical to the decision-making process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting functions.
- Prepare timely and accurate internal financial statements.
- Develop and monitor business performance metrics.
- Interpret and analyze financial statements and communicate conclusions with leadership team.
- Manage filing and payment of payroll related taxes.
- Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
- Manage the budget and forecasting process.
- Maintain financial closing schedule and deliver on agreed upon dead lines.
- Assess current accounting operations and control systems, offer recommendations for improvement, and implement and document new processes.
- Assist with hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff.
- Support and hold accountable the finance team.
- Collaborate with CPA firm to prepare closing and tax documents.
The successful candidate will have:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
· 5 years of private sector accounting experience
· QuickBooks experience
· Solid communication skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Detail and deadline-oriented
· Professional and positive demeanor and willingness to learn and grow with our team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $120,000.00 per year
