What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter position at Grand Traverse Custom Coatings?
Grand Traverse Custom Coatings is looking for a painter to join our team.
We are not looking for someone who just wants "a job." We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, wants to be part of a high-end company, and understands that the little details are what separate an average paint job from an exceptional one.
We specialize in high-end residential interior and exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, and detailed finish work. Our projects are clean, organized, detail-focused, and held to a very high standard.
What we're looking for:
- Self-motivated and dependable
- Strong attention to detail and takes pride in quality work
- Positive attitude and professional appearance
- Willing to learn and improve every day
- Able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working on ladders and with heights
- Able to lift and carry materials, set up ladders, and stay active throughout the day
- Shows up on time, ready to work, every day
- Has a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Able to commute to jobs throughout Northern Michigan
- Experience in painting is preferred, but the right attitude and work ethic matter just as much
Daily responsibilities may include:
- Interior and exterior painting
- Sanding, prep work, masking, caulking, filling, and site protection
- Cabinet refinishing and fine finish spraying
- Setting up and cleaning up job sites
- Working carefully in clients' homes and treating them with respect
- Following detailed processes and maintaining a clean, professional work environment
The right fit for our company is someone who:
- Notices the little things that other people miss
- Cares about doing the job right, not just getting it done fast
- Takes ownership without needing to be constantly watched
- Wants to be part of a company that is growing and building something great
- Understands that our reputation is built on quality, professionalism, and how we treat our clients
If you are hardworking, reliable, detail-oriented, and want to be part of a company that takes real pride in its work, we'd love to hear from you.
