We are assisting a growing Residential Homebuilder who are looking for someone to help them grow the organization by overseeing their HR & Recruiting function. This 50 person company is in growth mode, and the HR Manager position is seen as a critical hire to help them achieve their growth goals.
Role Description The Human Resources Manager is a full-time, in-office role based in the Columbia, SC area. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day HR operations, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with employment laws and company policies. The Human Resources Manager will partner closely with leadership to support workforce planning, develop HR processes and programs, and promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture. Typical daily activities include managing recruitment workflows, maintaining HR records and systems, advising managers on HR best practices, coordinating training and development initiatives, and handling sensitive employee issues with professionalism and confidentiality. The role also involves monitoring HR metrics, supporting organizational change, and ensuring HR practices align with both business objectives and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance.
- Ability to develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs that support organizational goals and a high-performance culture.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Experience using HRIS and related HR tools to maintain accurate records, generate reports, and support data-driven decision making.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, with attention to detail and integrity in handling confidential information.
- Experience in the construction or related industries is highly preferred, particularly in supporting field and operational teams.
