What are the responsibilities and job description for the Access Guard position at GRAND RIVER CASINO?
SALARY RANGE: $13.73 - $15.45 HOURLY/DOE
SUMMARY:
To control entry to and exit from the casino complex through the employee entrance/exit of all authorized employees, visitors, and vendors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Control access to the casino support areas through the employee entrance/exit.
- Responsible for issuing gaming licenses (know commonly as “ID badges”) at the beginning of shifts and retrieving licenses at the end of shifts and returning them to the numbered license holding slots made solely for the purpose.
- Logs in/out visitors and vendors, issues and receives visitor badges, receives incoming U.S. mail, as well as items from UPS and FED EX, etc. and provides back-up support to the shipping and receiving clerks.
- Make a cursory search of all outgoing handbags, briefcases, backpacks, or containers that leave the Casino.
- Receives phone calls and transfers them to other departments/casino employees as needed and authorized.
- Issues and receives gaming and non-gaming keys, as needed and other duties as directed by their supervisor.
- Cross train as a Security Guard. May be required to provide escorts and security coverage when needed, i.e. weekends.
- Maintaining Title 31 Compliance accurately.
- Other duties as assigned.
PREREQUISITES:
Must be age 21 or older, qualify for a Tribal Key gaming license.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) months experience in a related field or casino environment is preferred. Must be able to administer professional communication skills with guests and employees and ensure confidentiality. Must have knowledge of computer programs for office related duties.
PHYSICAL:
Sitting for long periods of time, lifting up to 40 pounds occasionally and must have good vision, correctable to 20/20.
