Key Responsibilities
Guest Welcome & Experience
- Greet guests promptly and warmly, using a professional and hospitable tone.
- Manage reservations, walk-ins, and special seating requests with care and fairness.
- Communicate accurate wait times and provide updates to guests throughout their wait.
- Recognize and note special occasions and guest preferences when possible.
- Coordinate table assignments to balance server sections, maximize efficiency, and support smooth service.
- Maintain an accurate waitlist and seating chart throughout the shift.
- Communicate seating status and guest needs to servers, managers, and kitchen teams.
- Support dining room pacing by partnering with leadership to adjust seating flow during peak periods.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the host stand, entry area, menus, and any guest-facing materials.
- Assist with menu distribution, basic guest questions, and directions within the hotel.
- Support light side work such as rolling silverware, resetting menus, and stocking host stand supplies as assigned.
- Follow all sanitation and safety guidelines, including clean handling of menus and guest-facing items.
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to grooming standards.
- Support the service team as needed during peak times (helping run items, bussing support, or coordinating to-go pickups—if applicable).

Qualifications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-first mindset.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods.
- Basic computer/technology comfort for reservation or waitlist systems.
- Prior host, front desk, or guest service experience in a hotel or high-volume restaurant.
- Familiarity with reservation/waitlist systems (e.g., OpenTable or similar).
- Bilingual skills (helpful, not required).
