Job Title: Director of Housekeeping Department: Housekeeping Company: Dimension Hospitality Reports To: Assistant General Manager or Director of Rooms Supervises: Assistant Executive Housekeepers, Laundry Manager, and Housekeeping Supervisors Job Purpose: Oversee all aspects of Housekeeping Department. Job Responsibilities: 1. Supervises housekeeping and laundry staff: interviewing, performance evaluations, training and development, scheduling according to labor standards and forecasted occupancy. 2. Assist with development of department’s annual budget. 3. Enforce policies and procedures to include disciplinary documentation and commendations. 4. Maintain room quality based on hotel objectives. 5. Monitors and maintains level of cleanliness in rooms, storage areas, laundry, restrooms, and public areas. 6. Ensure accurate status of rooms is input and communicated to front office. 7. Maintain productivity and labor cost goals. 8. Establish and maintain cost control systems for staffing and linen inventories and cleaning supplies. 9. Conducts inventories of linen, supplies and equipment. 10. Order and receive supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels. 11. Conduct daily stand up meetings. 12. Assign specialized tasks and deep cleaning projects. 13. Ensure quality services are rendered in meeting guest needs and that guest relations are enhanced. 14. Conduct quarterly departmental meetings. Meet or exceed corporate inspection standards. 15. Other duties as assigned. Job Skills: 1. Apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. 2. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations. 3. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure with like common and decimal fractions. Compute ratio, rate, and percent. Draw and interpret bar graphs. Perform arithmetic operations involving American monetary units. 4. Read and understand instructions, safety rules, write reports with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech. 5. Determine time, place, and sequence of operations or action to be taken on the basis of analysis of data; executing determination of and/or reporting on events. 6. Determine or interpret work procedures for a group of workers, assign specific duties, maintain harmonious relations among them and promote efficiency. Job Qualifications: Describe the minimum qualifications needed to complete the job responsibilities. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred. Experience Minimum 2 years’ experience as Assistant Executive Housekeeper, and 2 years housekeeping experience in a commercial environment in a supervisory capacity; OR, equivalent level of education and experience.
