We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Room Attendant to join our Housekeeping team. This role is responsible for cleaning guest rooms and public areas efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Room Attendants are expected to meet established quality and timing standards, respond to guest needs courteously, and may be cross-trained to perform additional housekeeping duties as needed.
Essential Job Functions
- Clean assigned guest rooms to company quality standards with a goal of zero defects and completion by 4:00 p.m.

Perform detailed room cleaning, including but not limited to:
- Spot washing walls
- Wiping down furniture and equipment
- Changing linens and making beds
- Replacing room amenities
- Vacuuming carpets
- Cleaning coffeepots, microwaves, and refrigerators
- Washing windows and mirrors
- Cleaning bathrooms (floors, tubs, showers, walls, and toilets)
- Changing shower curtains and stained items as needed
- Completing extra cleaning projects as assigned
- Stock housekeeping carts, linen bins, and supply closets neatly and accurately
- Keep hallways clean and free of debris; ensure laundry remains off the floor during work
- Accurately update housekeeping logs, including room start and stop times
- Observe, report, and document maintenance or repair issues promptly
- Address cleaning deficiencies immediately when notified by a supervisor
- Assist other team members in completing rooms when assigned work is finished
- Complete end-of-day tasks, including returning carts to the first floor, restocking supplies, removing trash, and taking it to the compactor
- Follow all safety standards and departmental procedures at all times
- Maintain a clean, professional, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with departmental standards
- Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance
- Learn, understand, and follow department Standard Operating Procedures and “Big Ten” guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Basic Qualifications
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to read and understand written instructions
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
Physical Requirements
- Standing and walking for the majority of the workday
- Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and grasping
- Pushing and pulling up to 40 lbs.
- Use of proper body mechanics for lifting, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and bending
- Fine motor skills, manual dexterity, and coordination required
- Ability to work around and operate housekeeping equipment
Working Conditions
- Exposure to varying environmental conditions including cold, heat, dampness, dust, noise, heights, and cleaning chemicals
- Ability to function professionally in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Work hours may vary based on departmental staffing needs
- Must comply with departmental dress code
