The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Interim Chief Steward of Community Engagement & Enterprise Support Officer to provide critical support to our executive leadership team. This interim, temporary assignment will be for up to 18 months. This pivotal role requires a versatile individual with exceptional communication skills, project management expertise, and the ability to navigate complex situations with discretion and professionalism. The Interim Chief Steward of Community Engagement & Enterprise Support Officer will serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring efficient operations and effective communication across the organization.
As our Interim Chief Steward of Community Engagement & Enterprise Support Officer, you will:
- Provide Responsive/Advisory Work: Deliver dynamic and real-time support, including drafting and reviewing internal and external messaging, preparing executive communications, and providing counsel on sensitive issues.
- Manage Communication: Oversee the creation and dissemination of talking points, press statements, email communications, memos, op-eds, and speeches, ensuring tone, alignment, and accessibility.
- Foster Community Engagement: Lead, organize, and manage the Executive Office's direct interaction with the community and external partners, serving as a liaison to ensure initiatives are culturally aligned and to facilitate transparent dialogue between the enterprise and the community.
- Oversee Executive Office Operations & Enterprise Support: Directly manage the flow of work and essential administrative functions for the Executive Office, including preparing agendas, managing follow-up on critical decisions, and implementing systems to ensure efficient execution of strategic enterprise-wide support initiatives.
- Drive Strategic Alignment and Resource Mobilization: Act as a central hub for internal project prioritization and coordination across various departments (the "enterprise"), ensuring all initiatives align with executive strategic goals and necessary resources and information are swiftly directed to support key organizational objectives and ventures.
- Support Executive Leadership: Prepare communications on behalf of executives and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Reputation & Crisis Management: Provide counsel and language for sensitive or high-stakes issues, safeguarding the organization's reputation.

Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in a senior-level administrative or executive support role.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects and delivering high-quality results.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of organizational communication and public relations.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong understanding of Mille Lacs tribal culture and customs.
- Ability to secure a Gaming Regulatory Authority (GRA) license.
- Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
- This position requires on-site work at the MLCV Headquarters building in Onamia, Minnesota, for the first 90 days. After this initial period, this role may transition to a hybrid work model.
