Qualifications
- Previous successful experiences with students through community or school related activities
- Previous law enforcement or security experience preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- Must be capable of establishing a good working relationship with students, parents and staff
- Must be patient, able, and willing to work with high school students
- Experience good judgment and decision-making in accordance with board policies and the student handbook
- Demonstrate experience with record-keeping and organization
- Demonstrate mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting requirements of this position
- Familiarity with restorative practices and ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate) emergency response procedures preferred
- Must successfully complete a Live Scan Criminal Records Check
- Build positive relationships with students and staff to foster a safe, welcoming environment
- Help enforce school rules in a respectful and consistent manner
- Supervise students throughout the school day including waiting for after-school athletic or academic sessions
- Patrol district building and grounds to ensure student safety including unauthorized persons or vehicles
- Act quickly and effectively in emergencies such as fights, medical incidents, fire alarms, or other alerts
- Follow the school’s emergency protocols and assist in the case of evacuations or lockdowns
- Make written reports of security violations to building principal
- Responsible for limited after school supervision
- Other duties as assigned
Salary : $17 - $20
