GRAMMER is seeking an Inside Sales Specialist to join our team in Plymouth, MI. This role supports customer account activities, sales coordination, order management, reporting, and cross-functional communication in close partnership with Key Account Managers and internal teams.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities while building strong working relationships with customers and internal partners. This position requires someone who communicates in a professional, tactful, and open manner and takes ownership of tasks, actions, and behaviors.
This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum expectation of three days per week onsite at the Plymouth, MI office.
What You’ll Do
Customer and Sales Support
- Support Key Account Managers with customer acquisition, customer demands, ongoing account support, and regional or global acquisition projects.
- Independently manage customer requests, orders, and national and international correspondence.
- Receive and coordinate customer requests of a technical or commercial nature for further processing.
- Create, prepare, and track customer offers in accordance with direction from Key Account Managers and management.
- Support customer-specific documentation, including new customer setup in SAP.
- Gather, compile, and maintain information related to competitors and market activity.
- Support Sales departments at subsidiaries, as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of customer events and participate in trade fairs, presentations, or related sales activities.
- Support daily activities in customer web portals.
Order, Delivery, and Account Coordination
- Independently process customer orders during the development process, including related documentation such as delivery notes and invoices.
- Coordinate orders and related activities with cross-functional teams.
- Clarify sampling and delivery dates with customers.
- Monitor sales processing activities and assist in resolving deviations or issues in coordination with the appropriate functional departments.
- Support spare parts management, including spare parts supervision, management, and assortment clearing.
SAP, Pricing, and Data Management
- Create and maintain GRAMMER part numbers in SAP, including circular data.
- Maintain SAP master data based on customer data, material data, and contractual terms.
- Review and maintain pricing in SAP in accordance with GRAMMER processes.
- Support customer onboarding and account setup activities within SAP and related systems.
Reporting, Planning, and Analysis
- Record planning information, including APO monthly rolling planning, according to specifications from Key Account Managers and management.
- Support Global and Key Account Managers with budget activities.
- Create and update standard reports related to opportunities, risks, accruals, and related business activity.
- Participate in target and performance comparisons, including CM2, sales, and cost analysis.
- Create forecasts, analyze deviations, and support follow-up activities.
Cross-Functional and Commercial Support
- Support Key Account Managers with Engineering Change Management activities.
- Participate in claim negotiations related to customer demands and contractual terms, in coordination with Key Account Managers and management.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external partners to support timely, accurate, and customer-focused outcomes.
What We Need From You
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 years of professional experience in inside sales, sales support, customer service, account coordination, or a similar customer-facing business role.
- Strong written and verbal business communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Basic understanding of commercial terms and conditions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on tasks, and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
