Montessori Teacher (Infant)

Responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized curriculum plans rooted in Montessori methodology that promote sensory exploration, motor skills, language development, and social-emotional growth for infants.
• Provide attentive, respectful care that supports infants’ physical needs, including feeding, diapering, and sleep routines, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
• Foster a warm, welcoming classroom environment that encourages independence and curiosity through thoughtfully prepared materials and activities.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child’s progress, milestones, and any concerns, building strong partnerships based on trust and transparency.
• Maintain accurate documentation of each infant’s developmental milestones, daily activities, and observations to inform ongoing instruction and parent updates.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including first aid and CPR certification requirements, mandated reporting laws, and childcare licensing standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan engaging lessons that integrate literacy education, early intervention strategies, behavior management techniques, and classroom management best practices.

Skills

• Demonstrated experience working with infants or toddlers in a childcare or preschool setting.
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and Montessori infant curriculum development.
• Ability to manage a classroom effectively while providing personalized attention to each child’s needs.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
• Familiarity with special education practices and early intervention programs tailored for young children.
• Proficiency in lesson planning, behavior management strategies, and classroom organization.
• Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety procedures.
• Experience with physical education activities suitable for infants to promote motor skills development.
• First aid and CPR certification to ensure immediate response in emergency situations.
• Passion for early childhood education combined with a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity.
