Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and tailored to individual student needs.
- Utilize instructional modifications and accommodations in accordance with IEP (Individualized Education Program) requirements to support students with disabilities.
- Incorporate educational technology, learning tools, and assistive devices to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies, creating a safe and inclusive environment for all learners.
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary teams regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Conduct assessments, standardized testing, and progress monitoring to evaluate student development and inform instruction.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, specialists (such as speech therapists or occupational therapists), and support staff to deliver cohesive educational experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; advanced certifications in special education or early childhood education preferred.
- Proven experience working with children or students with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs.
- Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP development, instructional design, and behavioral therapy techniques.
- Familiarity with educational technology platforms, learning management systems, and assistive learning devices.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics with patience, creativity, and behavioral management expertise.
