Requirements:
- 6 years of experience in the electrical trade
- 2-year degree in an electrical or related field preferred
- Proven electrical estimating experience
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Ability to generate layouts, designs, and documentation
- Proficiency with NEC codes, arc flash, and safety standards
- Experience with estimating software, CAD, and Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication with customers, vendors, and subcontractors
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and follow-through
- Must be proactive and willing to help outside core duties when needed
Position Summary:
As a Commercial Estimator at Gragg Electrical Services, you’ll be responsible for developing competitive bids and precise cost estimates that drive company growth.
This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication, and a deep understanding of the electrical trade. You’ll work closely with the leadership team, GCs, and vendors to ensure bids are accurate, profitable, and aligned with Gragg’s high standards of craftsmanship and care.
Core Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and proposals
- Prepare material takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid documentation
- Communicate with GCs, vendors, and internal teams to clarify project scope
- Develop project budgets and track costs through completion
- Maintain estimating databases and bid files
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and proposal presentations
- Support ongoing relationship development with general contractors and vendors
- Ensure all estimates align with company safety and quality standards
