POSITION SUMMARY
The Production and Quality Assurance Specialist position focuses on the quality assurance processes and continuous improvement methodologies. The position involves the day-to-day operations of the Quality team which includes the quality inspection of parts. Communication with customers on non-conforming materials, scanning new parts to meet customer specifications.

Essential Functions Statements
- Knowledge and hands-on operation of Quality Assurance equipment and methodology.
- Knowledge and hands-on operation of metal fabrication machinery, especially metal forming with hydraulic presses and welding equipment.
- Inspect parts to assure they meet quality and environmental standards and expectations of the customer.
- Partner with Project Management team to ensure reliable and timely executed APQP and PPAP process.
- Ensure PPAP capability that meets or exceed all industry and customer requirements.
- Ensure timely submission of PPAPs to customers.
- Conduct quality measurements and complete customer documentation prior to series production and delivery to customers.
- Ensure that quality capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements.
- Abide by IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards at all times.
- Collaborate with customers providing assistance and responding to inquiries.
- Work a regular schedule determined by supervisory management
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
- High School Degree or equivalent and/or related experience required.
- Associates Degree from an accredited Quality Assurance program preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance position.
- Ability to use Direct read measuring devices required.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing skills preferred.
- Ability to coordinate 3 Dimensional Coordinate Measuring and 2 Dimensional CAD experience preferred.
- Previous experience in manufacturing; metal fabrication.
- Ability to read blue prints and understand functionality of parts and their components.
- Ability to operate a forklift and obtain certification.
- Ability to work in a team environment and/or independently.
- Ability to train inexperienced co-workers.
- Ability to read and use GD&T.
Computer Skills:
- Experience using MS Office Suite, 3D Modeling CAD software, Inspection Manager, Polyworks and Gage Trak.
