Job Summary

The Human Resources Specialist provides operational HR support to assigned business areas, ensuring timely and accurate execution of core HR processes in compliance with organizational policies. This role partners closely with HR Consultants and HR Directors to support a positive and consistent employee experience across Grady Health System.

Responsibilities

• Support recruitment activities by verifying employment status for internal transfers and rehire candidates.
• Assist the Talent Acquisition team with onboarding activities and requirements, including participation in programs such as Organizational Orientation.
• Process and support employee lifecycle changes, including promotions, transfers, compensation updates, and employment status changes within HR systems.
• Manage offboarding activities by approving terminations and completing associated tasks in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HRIS data integrity to support compliance and reporting.
• Manage leave of absence (LOA) communications and escalate cases to HR Consultants as appropriate.
• Ensure timely completion of disabilityrelated documentation.
• Track workers' compensation claims, maintain accurate records, and escalate issues as needed.
• Support unemployment claim responses and hearings in partnership with HR Consultants.
• Assist with EHS processes, new hire onboarding documentation, and review of religious exemption requests.
• Assist with HR programs, initiatives, and special projects as assigned.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources Management preferred
• 4 or more years of applicable work experience required
