Project Accountant / Heavy Civil Construction

Gradex, Inc., a heavy civil construction company, is hiring a Project Accountant in Carmel, Indiana.

OPPORTUNITY:

Gradex is continuing its exciting growth plan with dynamic opportunities. As our Project Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting projects through accurate financial and accounts payable management. You’ll ensure invoices, tickets, and vendor documentation are properly processed and coded, helping to keep projects on budget and well-documented. Reporting to the Manager of Accounting and Finance, this role offers the chance to grow your accounting expertise in the construction industry.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Match tickets to invoices and scan/save to OCR and Egnyte.
• Ensure invoices are routed to the proper reviewers for approval.
• Verify material and trucking costs against quotes or lease agreements.
• Cost code and review project invoices for accuracy.
• Obtain W9s and ACH forms for new vendors, ensuring proper setup.
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as needed.

SUCCESS FACTORS:

• Preferred of 2 years of accounting or project accounting experience (construction industry experience preferred).
• Familiarity with accounts payable processes and vendor documentation requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Clear and professional communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Demonstrates integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality in handling financial data.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Gradex, Inc. will reward your Project Accounting talents with a salary of $60K – $65K, depending on your experience. You will also receive a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid time off, paid holidays, disability, and life insurance.
