Position Summary

Essential Functions Of The Job

• Cleaning and sanitation of facilities and equipment using industrial chemicals and cleaners.
• Operation of powered industrial forklifts, scissor lift, power sweeper, pallet jacks, personnel cart, etc.
• Basic preventative maintenance inspections and tasks, including, but not limited to, fire extinguisher checks, eye wash/shower checks, lighting checks, etc.
• Basic facilities maintenance including, but not limited to, room set-ups, furniture movement, parking lot signs, etc.
• Helper to other maintenance classifications.
• Store maintenance parts to their proper location in the maintenance storeroom. Ensure that parts are identified, and storeroom is maintained in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Work in a safe and cautious manner at all times to avoid injury to self and other and to avoid damaging plant equipment and facilities.
• Maintain a productive work pace, performing tasks in accordance with applicable quality standards.
• Follow written and verbal work instructions.
• Maintain a clean, neat and organized work area.
• Effectively communicate with co-workers and supervision to accomplish assigned tasks.
• Provides support for new & less experienced employees by demonstrating the correct and safe way to perform job duties, answering job-related questions, sharing relevant knowledge, and assisting with on-the-job training as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSA’s)

• Must be able to read, write legibly and carry out verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner as needed to complete assigned duties.
• Must work with minimum supervision.
• Must be able to utilize basic computer functions.
• Knowledge of RCRA and Hazardous waste handling.
• Knowledge of GMS and safety systems to ensure compliance.

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  
  
  

Working Conditions

• Work performed in all areas of plant environment.
• Occasionally required to work outdoors.
• Exposure to elements such as dust, dirt, noise, heat, cold, etc.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk bend, twist/turn, bend/squat, push/pull, climb, reach below knees and reach above shoulders on a continuous basis.
• Frequent use of powered material handling equipment.
• Required to lift or carry up to 25lbs, frequently lift/carry 26-50lbs, occasionally lift/carry 50lbs.
• Must be medically cleared to wear a respirator
