- Greet clients warmly and professionally, creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for pet owners and visitors
- Schedule appointments efficiently, managing calendar updates and reminders for veterinary staff
- Handle medical collections accurately, processing payments and insurance claims with precision
- Maintain detailed client records, updating medical histories and treatment plans as needed
- Assist with kennel operations by coordinating pet drop-offs and pick-ups, ensuring proper animal handling
- Support veterinary critical care efforts by communicating urgent cases promptly to the team
- Manage laboratory documentation and laboratory experience tasks related to patient diagnostics
- Facilitate animal restraint during examinations or treatments using proper animal handling techniques
- Assist with restraining and other duties when required
- Maintain a clean, organized reception area adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols
- Support veterinary team members with veterinary assistant tasks, such as filling prescriptions, administering vaccines, etc
- Proven experience as a veterinary receptionist or in a similar customer service role within an animal healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and restraint techniques
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and external partners. Spanish speaker preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity with medical collection procedures and laboratory processes related to veterinary medicine
- Kennel experience and animal husbandry knowledge to support daily operations and animal well-being
- Proficiency in using veterinary software systems for scheduling, record-keeping, and billing purposes
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining composure and attention to detail in all tasks
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a sterile environment during procedures
