Position Title: Director of Family Ministries
Reports To: Senior Pastor
Compensation: Range of $20,000-$25,000 based on experience, with paid time off accrued as per the Grace Employee Handbook
Ministry Description: The Director of Family Ministries will direct and oversee the programming for children 0-18 years old at Grace United Methodist Church. Average of 15-20 hours a week, especially on Sunday, will be dedicated to preparation, administration, working with volunteers and overseeing Sunday School, youth ministry and family outreach events
Key Qualities: Enthusiastic, a team player, has a teachable spirit, motivates others and works well with parents, children and youth Strong organizational and communication skills, especially on a computer using email and social media Biblical scholarship is not needed, but support of the mission of the church to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world is!
Key Responsibilities: Recruit, train and support the volunteers for Sunday School (including curriculum and lessons plans) and youth group Plan and recruit volunteers for at least the following: Founder’s Day, Advent Family Workshop, Easter Egg Hunt and Vacation Bible School (Summer Camp VBS), as well as initiate new community events Engage within the church congregation, nursery school, and community to invite families to participate in community events Communicate within and outside of the church to advertise church events Lead youth group and attend youth group events Communicate with parents information for the youth program and events
