Facility Maintenance Technician - Staff Job Description
Overview: The Facility Maintenance Technician serves 25 hours per week to assist the Facility Manager in accomplishing their mission: making the facilities of Grace United Methodist Church (including Grace Children’s Learning Center) a safe, clean, welcoming, and professional environment for ministry.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe, clean, welcoming, and professional church environment including but not limited to the attached “GUMC Daily Tasks”.
- Ensure a safe and clean Grace Children’s Learning Center including but not limited to “GCLC Daily Tasks”.
- Perform routine building inspections to seek out maintenance and custodial needs, address them, or ensure they are addressed by some other means.
- Respond to work-orders in a timely manner. For example:
- Minor repairs around the church
- Routine maintenance of facility (replacing bulbs, batteries, etc.)
- Participate in regular Environment of Care building inspections with facility leaders
- Provide room set up and take down for classes and events
- Provide excellent customer service and communication skills.
Reporting Relationships
The Facility Maintenance Technician reports to the Church Administrator/Facility Manager.
Compensation:
- $21-26 per hour, 25 hours per week, 9am-2pm, Monday-Friday
- Optional additional hours during peak seasons or specific facility needs
- Paid Vacation/Sick Leave: 2 workweeks according to the GUMC Personnel Policy
- This position is non-exempt
GUMC Daily & Periodic Task Examples:
- Respond to work-orders in a timely fashion
- Set up for special events
- General repairs, installation and removal of equipment
- Paint as necessary
- Install outdoor and indoor signs
- Maintenance of walkways (snow/ice, leaves, occasional goose droppings, etc.)
- Occasional trash removal
- Work with vendors as needed
- Other duties as assigned
GCLC Daily & Periodic Task Examples:
- Make sure soap and paper towel dispensers are filled in the morning
- General repairs, installation and removal of equipment from classrooms and building
- Paint classrooms and areas of the building as necessary
- Help set up for special events
- Help with jammed dispensers during the day
- Maintaining a neat supply and work area so others are able to locate necessary items
- Clean up from occasional bodily fluids
- Other duties as needed
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
