Job Summary
Grace Therapy & Wellness Center is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assessment Psychologist to conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and/or adults. This position focusesexclusively on assessment services, no ongoing therapy caseload. The ideal candidate is proficient in psychological testing, diagnostic formulation, and clinical report writing, and is committed to delivering high-quality, ethical, and culturally responsive evaluations. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about advancing mental health care through precise evaluation techniques and evidence-based practices. There is a base per hour rate in addition to a 50/50 fee split for completed assessments. GTWC will reimburse for PSYPACT membership and PsychologyToday membership.
Duties
- Conduct detailed psychological assessments using standardized tools, clinical interviews, and behavioral observations to evaluate mental health status.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately classify mental health conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Administer specialized evaluations for children and adolescents, including assessments related to developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), special education needs, and gender issues counseling.
- Utilize telehealth platforms for remote assessments when necessary, ensuring seamless service delivery across different settings.
- Conduct intake interviews to gather comprehensive patient histories and determine appropriate evaluation pathways.
- Apply ICD coding accurately for diagnosis documentation and billing purposes in compliance with healthcare standards.
- Stay current on best practices, assessment tools, and ethical standards in psychological evaluation.
- Expectation is to conduct and complete 3-4 evaluations per month.
- Supervise a minimum of 2 PsyD/PhD interns per year.
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to medical terminology, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD updates, and behavioral health best practices.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of clinical principles, including behavioral health, mental health counseling, and patient assessment.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation practices.
- Competence in crisis intervention techniques and managing psychological conditions.
- Ability to perform intake assessments effectively and develop rapport with patients.
- Experience in outpatient mental health, private practice, or integrated behavioral health settings is a plus.
- Proficiency in telehealth platforms for remote patient engagement is a plus.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training related to psychiatric practices.
- Post-residency experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to work within different EHR systems, confident with Google Drive, Microsoft products and Slack.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology.
- Active, unrestricted psychologist license in Illinois.
- Training and supervised experience in psychological assessment.
- Strong skills in test administration, scoring, diagnostic formulation, and professional writing.
- Experience with ADHD, LD, or autism evaluations.
- Expertise in trauma-related or forensic assessments.
- Familiarity with tele-assessment tools.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80.00 - $90.00 per hour
