Grace Requires Understanding, Inc. (GRU, Inc.) is a locally owned organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families throughout Southern New Mexico. We provide Family Living, Customized Community Supports (CCSI), Respite, and Community Integrated Health Services (CIHS) under the New Mexico Developmental Disabilities Waiver (DD Waiver).
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Part-Time Billing Administrator / Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. The primary focus of this position is Medicaid billing and billing support but will also include program quality assurance duties, this will be expanded if the position moves into a full-time position. The successful candidate will ensure accurate and timely billing, maintain billing records, and support compliance with Medicaid and DD Waiver requirements.
Primary Responsibilities (Part-Time)
- Prepare, review, and process Medicaid/DD Waiver billing accurately and timely.
- Verify documentation supports billed services.
- Maintain organized billing records and tracking systems.
- Work closely with program staff to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Monitor billing deadlines and assist in maintaining compliance with payer requirements.
- Assist with administrative duties related to billing operations.
- Support the Director and Lead Biller with special projects as needed.
Expanded Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate the agency's Quality Assurance Committee.
- Track compliance requirements for individual records and documentation.
- Monitor agency quality assurance tracking systems.
- Communicate with departments regarding missing documentation and compliance issues.
- Prepare compliance reports for leadership.
- Identify trends and recommend process improvements.
- Assist departments with quality improvement initiatives.
- Support the Training Department with quality assurance and compliance-related projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional education in healthcare administration, business, accounting, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Experience with Medicaid billing, healthcare billing, or DD Waiver services is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Good working knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with quality assurance, compliance, or auditing is a plus.
