Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble meals according to dietary guidelines, menus, and safety standards, ensuring timely delivery for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks
• Assist with food production tasks such as chopping, portioning, cooking, and plating dishes with precision and care
• Serve residents in a courteous manner, maintaining excellent customer service and respecting individual dietary needs
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas by sanitizing surfaces, washing dishes, and properly disposing of waste to uphold sanitation standards
• Support the dietary department by bussing tables, cleaning utensils, and assisting with food handling procedures in compliance with food safety regulations
• Follow proper food handling protocols to prevent contamination and ensure the safety of all meals prepared and served
• Manage time efficiently during busy meal periods to meet service deadlines while maintaining quality standards

Requirements

• Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred
• Demonstrated culinary experience with skills in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly
• Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation procedures aligned with health regulations
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during peak meal times
• Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate courteously with residents and team members
• Familiarity with dietary guidelines specific to healthcare or senior living environments is a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
