Construction Foreman

Grace Construction

At Grace Construction, we believe great projects start with great people. We’re looking for an experienced Construction Foreman who takes pride in quality workmanship, leads by example, and knows how to keep a crew productive and moving in the right direction.

If you’re someone who enjoys working in the field, solving problems, leading a team, and has a “get it done right” mentality, we’d love to meet you.

Job Highlights You’ll Thrive in This Role If You:

  • Enjoy working alongside and leading a construction crew.
  • Take pride in delivering high-quality work the first time.
  • Know how to keep crews productive, organized, and on task.
  • Can read plans and turn them into quality finished work.
  • Solve field problems quickly and communicate issues before they become delays.
  • Lead with integrity, accountability, and a “get it done right” attitude.

Position Overview

As a Construction Foreman, you’ll provide hands-on leadership to field crews and help ensure daily construction activities are completed safely, efficiently, and according to plan.

Working closely with the Construction Superintendent, you’ll help coordinate daily work, assign tasks, monitor crew productivity, maintain quality standards, and keep work progressing according to the project schedule.

This is a working leadership position. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable leading from the front—providing direction when needed while also stepping in and working alongside the crew to get the job done.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to field employees.
  • Assign daily tasks and clearly communicate expectations.
  • Work alongside the crew and lead by example.
  • Monitor productivity and keep employees focused on project priorities.
  • Help train and develop less-experienced team members.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and productive work environment.
  • Communicate staffing, performance, or productivity concerns to the Superintendent.

Keep Work Moving

  • Execute daily and weekly work plans established with the Superintendent.
  • Review upcoming work and ensure crews are prepared with the necessary tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Coordinate field activities with subcontractors and other trades as directed.
  • Identify potential delays, conflicts, or material needs early.
  • Communicate field issues to the Superintendent and assist with solutions.
  • Help ensure work stays aligned with the overall project schedule.

Deliver Quality Work

  • Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and Grace Construction’s quality standards.
  • Read and interpret construction plans, details, and specifications.
  • Verify layouts, measurements, and field conditions before work begins.
  • Inspect work throughout the construction process.
  • Identify and correct workmanship issues promptly.
  • Take ownership of completing work correctly the first time.

Maintain a Safe & Organized Jobsite

  • Promote and enforce safe work practices.
  • Ensure employees use appropriate PPE and follow jobsite safety requirements.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and professional.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and address or report them immediately.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are used properly and cared for.

Communicate & Solve Problems

  • Maintain regular communication with the Superintendent regarding progress, manpower, materials, and field conditions.
  • Participate in daily coordination and planning.
  • Communicate clearly with employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and other members of the project team.
  • Identify problems early and help develop practical solutions.
  • Report scope changes, plan conflicts, or unexpected field conditions before proceeding with work outside the established scope.

Field Documentation

  • Provide accurate updates on daily progress and completed work.
  • Assist with jobsite photos and field documentation using Microsoft Teams.
  • Track material, equipment, and manpower needs.
  • Report incidents, delays, damage, or other significant jobsite issues to the Superintendent.

What Success Looks Like

  • Crews know what they are expected to accomplish each day.
  • Work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Employees are productive and held accountable for their work.
  • Work is completed right the first time with exceptional quality.
  • Jobsites remain clean, organized, and professional.
  • Material and equipment needs are identified before they cause delays.
  • Problems are communicated early and addressed quickly.
  • Strong working relationships are maintained with the Superintendent, coworkers, subcontractors, and the Grace Construction team.

Qualifications

Required

  • Previous construction experience in a Foreman, Lead Carpenter, Crew Lead, or similar field leadership role.
  • Strong framing and siding experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and field operations.
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate a construction crew.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to plan daily work and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Dependable, accountable, and willing to lead by example.

Preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Teams or similar project management software.
  • OSHA safety training or certifications.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily field-based position with regular active participation in construction activities.
  • Ability to lift and carry construction materials, tools, and equipment as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and perform physical construction tasks throughout the workday.
  • Work may take place indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Occasional overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.
