What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Experienced Head Teacher position at Grace Church Nursery School?
Grace Church School is a non-sectarian preschool in Brooklyn Heights for children ages two to five years. We are seeking a head preschool teacher.
Expectations and Responsibilities
- Develop and facilitate engaging and enriching child-led curriculum.
- Implement responsive teaching strategies to support young children with a range of learning styles and developmental needs.
- Promote a harmonious and collaborative teaching atmosphere and serve as a supervisor and mentor for associate teachers.
- Responsible for internal and external report writing and evaluations.
- Build positive relationships with families and keep them up to date about curriculum and students through written updates, informal connections, and parent-teacher conferences.
Qualifications
- New York State certification or study plan
- Master’s degree in early childhood education or approved related field
- Early childhood classroom leadership experience
- Knowledge of developmental variations and ability to work well with a range of children
- Warmth, patience, and a sense of humor are essential
Timing
- September 1, 2026 - June 17, 2027
- Monday-Friday 8:30-3:00/3:30
Compensation and Benefits
- $70,000-$90,000 based on experience, education and hours
