TITLE: Facilities Director
REPORTS TO:Head of School
We are seeking a dependable and service-minded Facilities Director to join our Christ-centered school community. The ideal candidate will provide leadership and hands-on oversight of campus operations, ensuring that our buildings and grounds are safe, well-maintained, and ready to support daily learning and special events.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in facilities management, maintenance, construction, or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and coordinate multiple projects and vendors
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage budgets, supplies, and preventative maintenance schedules
- Willingness to be available for occasional evening or weekend needs
- Active member of an evangelical Christian church with a growing relationship with Jesus Christ
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Facility Director provides strategic and hands-on leadership for the care, safety, and stewardship of the school’s campus. This role ensures that all buildings, grounds, and systems support an environment that is safe, welcoming, and conducive to academic excellence. The Facility Director supports the school’s mission while cultivating a strong, Christ-centered relationship with administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents, and the Southall Church community, rooted in a spirit of unity, trust, and collaboration.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of all school facilities, including classrooms, offices, and common areas.
2. Continue, develop, and/or implement where appropriate, preventive maintenance programs for applicable systems.
3. Ensure campus cleanliness, appearance, and readiness for school days, events, and special programs.
4. Supervise, train, and coordinate work schedules for custodial and maintenance personnel. Training will include the safe use of tools, equipment, chemicals, and other items used by the facilities department.
5. Determines the type of materials, equipment, and supplies to be used or purchased (e.g. procures needed items, orders supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items as needed to complete projects and properly maintain facilities.
6. Solicit bids, negotiate contracts, and oversee the work of outside vendors and contractors within allotted budgets.
7. Track expenses and recommend cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality and safety.
8. Utilize technology such as MaintainX to receive, track, and distribute tasks allocated to the facilities department.
9. Collaborate with school leadership on long-term campus planning and capital improvement projects.
10. Inspects school (e.g., buildings, grounds, playground equipment, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that the site is suitable for safe operations, maintained in an attractive and clean condition, and/or identifying/reporting necessary repairs due to vandalism, equipment breakage, weather conditions, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to walk the campus daily, climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
