About the Role
Christ the King School seeks an experienced, dynamic, and student-focused Middle School Math Teacher to teach students in grades 5–8. The ideal candidate has a deep passion for mathematics, solid content knowledge, and a student-centered approach that develops students' reasoning and problem-solving skills. They should have a proven ability to engage learners in meaningful mathematical thinking. This teacher will inspire students to gain confidence in their abilities, think critically, and see the beauty and relevance of mathematics, aligning with our school's mission and academic standards through a genuine commitment to the spiritual and academic growth of every student.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver an engaging mathematics curriculum aligned with state and diocesan standards for grades 5–8
- Plan, prepare, and execute daily lessons that build conceptual understanding, computational fluency, and mathematical reasoning
- Foster a classroom environment that supports academic rigor, intellectual curiosity, collaboration, and respect
- Differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, including those requiring enrichment and additional support
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, and communicate effectively with students and parents regarding academic growth
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning, coordinate curriculum alignment, and participate in school-wide initiatives
- Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events
- Integrate faith and Catholic values into the curriculum in meaningful and authentic ways
- Serve as one of the middle school homeroom teachers (grade assignment to be determined)
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in grades 5–8
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master's degree or advanced degree preferred)
- Valid Tennessee teaching license with mathematics endorsement for grades 5–8 (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
- Demonstrated strong classroom management skills and ability to create an orderly, engaging learning environment
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Experience with differentiated instruction and meeting diverse learner needs
- Commitment to the mission of Catholic education and willingness to support the spiritual formation of students
- Familiarity with best practices in mathematics instruction and 21st-century learning approaches
Preferred:
- Master's degree or higher in Education, Mathematics, or a mathematics-related field
- Experience in Catholic or private school settings
- Demonstrated proficiency with digital tools for teaching, assessment, and student engagement
- Experience implementing problem-based or inquiry-based learning approaches in mathematics
