Legal Billing Specialist

A well-established law firm is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Billing Specialist to join its team. This role is responsible for preparing, processing, and managing client invoices in accordance with firm and client billing guidelines, while collaborating closely with attorneys and staff to ensure billing accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and edit client invoices in accordance with firm policies and client guidelines
• Apply E-billing procedures with proficiency
• Review and verify accuracy of billing data, ensuring all billable time and expenses are properly accounted for
• Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to resolve billing discrepancies and issues
• Respond to client inquiries regarding billing and payment status
• Process write-offs in accordance with firm policy
• Execute complex bills accurately and on time, including multiple discounts by matter, split-party billing, and electronic bill preparation
• Manage a high volume of bills on a monthly basis
• Review and verify accuracy of billing and supporting documentation as required
• Create new billing formats as needed
• Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly billing reports for management review

Qualifications:

• 3 years of hands-on billing experience in a law firm
• Experience with Elite 3E, Aderant, or equivalent legal accounting software
• Proficiency with MS Office
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, adapting to shifting priorities and demands
• Self-starter who can anticipate work needs and follow through with minimal direction
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including occasional evenings or weekends

Compensation: $85,000 – $100,000, commensurate with experience, plus comprehensive benefits
