The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will be responsible for prospecting and generating new business opportunities through outbound phone calls, emails, and other outreach channels. The primary objective is to qualify leads and set up meetings with potential clients for the sales team. This role is essential to the success of the sales process and will require a combination of excellent communication skills, perseverance, strong organizational abilities, and a goal-oriented mindset.
Job Goals
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Create meeting opportunities with:
- New prospect companies and new contacts within those companies.
- Existing customers by engaging new contacts, offices, or teams within those organizations.
- Dormant customers by re-engaging contacts, offices, or companies that have been inactive for 2 years.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and develop strategic plans to target new market segments.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts.
Prospecting & Lead Generation
- Conduct outbound calls and send personalized email campaigns to target potential leads and prospects.
- Research and identify key decision-makers within target accounts using CRM tools, LinkedIn, and other research methods.
- Qualify leads based on their needs, budget, and fit with our solutions.
- Drive opportunities by scheduling meetings with:
- New prospect companies and contacts.
- Existing customers through new contacts, offices, or teams.
- Previously inactive customers to re-establish relationships.
- Engage with prospects to understand their pain points and goals.
- Schedule product demos or introductory meetings for the sales team.
- Maintain and manage a high volume of outbound outreach activities, ensuring consistent follow-up.
- Track all interactions and update prospect information in the CRM.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date data is recorded on all prospects, leads, and opportunities.
- Monitor and manage daily, weekly, and monthly outreach goals and quotas.
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure alignment on target audiences, messaging, and outreach strategies.
- Provide feedback to the team on prospecting effectiveness, challenges, and market trends.
- Stay updated on product knowledge, industry trends, and best practices for outbound prospecting.
- Participate in training sessions, sales meetings, and performance reviews to refine sales skills.
- Minimum of 1-year experience with lead generation and prospecting with demonstrated results.
- Confidence in making cold calls to potential clients, finding new business opportunities, and generating leads for the sales pipeline.
- Experience using NetSuite to manage customer relationships. Preferred experience tracking sales activities, and creating reports to help drive lead generation.
- Ability to work well with different teams to achieve common goals and successful outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly and persuasively convey ideas.
- Collaborative mindset to work with Business Development Managers (BDMs) or Market Segment Leaders (MSLs) to plan and execute sales strategies that align with overall business goals.
