GPI seeks a Traffic Management Field Technician in Seaford, NY, who will be responsible for day-to-day operations, maintenance and troubleshooting of Traffic Management Field Operations equipment. The position has regular hours Monday through Friday excluding holidays with flexible hours between 7:00am – 7:00pm for a (9) hour shift including 1 hour meal break.

Responsibilities:
- Operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Traffic Management Field Operations equipment, which includes but is not limited to portable traffic signal trailers, portable message sign trailers, camera trailers, communications trailers, flashing beacon trailers, Incident Management Response trailers, and generator trailers
- Equipment inventory, readiness, deployment, and operation of the equipment that is stored at the Traffic Management warehouse located in Seaford, NY
- Deploying and retrieving Traffic Management trailers and equipment as directed
- Availability to respond to emergency incidents impacting roadways, both while working and during limited non-working hours. A vehicle will be available to utilize for field visits during working hours (must be 21 to drive)
- On-the-job and paid training will be provided
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- 1 year satisfactory experience in traffic signal operation, construction, or inspection preferred
- Must be available to work overtime for special events, weather events, and off-hours emergencies
- Must be at least 21 years old to drive an agency vehicle
- Knowledge of computers in a Windows-based environment, including Microsoft Office
- Effective communication skills and the ability to follow oral & written instructions
- Ability to lift and move field equipment and other medium-weight objects
- Ability to work outside for extended periods of time in all seasons & weather
- Ability to maintain field equipment, small gas engine, and hydraulics
- Knowledge of and the ability to test low-voltage wiring
- Must have a clean and valid New York State Class D driver’s license
- The ability to tow and back up trailers
Salary : $50,000 - $55,000
