Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of personal injury defense matters from inception through resolution
- Handle all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery
- Take and defend depositions (parties, witnesses, and experts)
- Draft and argue motions, including dispositive motions
- Evaluate liability, damages, and exposure for cases
- Communicate regularly with insurance carriers and provide case strategy updates
- Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and negotiations
- Prepare cases for trial, with trial experience a plus
- 1-10 years of personal injury defense experience
- Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience handling depositions and motion practice
- Ability to manage a caseload independently (especially for mid to senior-level candidates)
- Trial experience is a plus but not required
- Active California Bar admission required
