Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
- Conduct legal research, factual investigations, and case evaluations.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other litigation documents.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Manage written discovery and expert-related matters.
- Participate in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trial preparation.
- Develop case strategy and negotiate settlements.
- Communicate directly with clients, insurers, claims professionals, and opposing counsel.
- Appear in state and federal courts as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, experts, and other litigation professionals.
- Civil litigation experience preferred.
- Insurance defense experience is a plus.
- Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
- Deposition experience preferred.
- Ability to independently manage cases and competing deadlines.
- Excellent client-service and communication skills.
- Strong interest in developing courtroom and trial experience.
