Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer to join our team, specializing in large-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) projects within the metals and minerals sector. This role will provide leadership in the design and execution of electrical systems for smelters, refineries, mineral processing plants, and other heavy industrial facilities, ensuring safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Our company delivers a full range of services including construction management, fabrication, erection, mechanical installation, plant maintenance for heavy industrial, commercial, and roadway projects, as well as complete golf course construction and management solutions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead electrical system design and execution across all EPC project phases (FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning).
• Develop and approve designs for power distribution, substations, grounding/earthing, lighting, fire detection, and backup power systems.
• Review and validate deliverables such as single-line diagrams, cable schedules, load lists, and technical specifications.
• Perform and review system studies including short-circuit, load flow, arc flash, and protection coordination (ETAP or equivalent).
• Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, IEC, and other applicable standards.
• Supervise and support electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, mechanical, and instrumentation teams for integrated project execution.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical direction to subcontractors and EPC partners.
• Act as a technical liaison with clients, vendors, and contractors to resolve issues and align project deliverables.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
• 15 years of electrical engineering experience, including at least 8 years in EPC projects within metals/mining/heavy industrial sectors.
• Proficiency in ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, and other electrical design software.
• Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power distribution, substations, motors, and industrial automation systems.
• Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  
  

Physical Demands

• Primarily office-based with extended computer use.
• Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Periodic site visits with exposure to noise, dust, weather, and construction conditions.
• Use of personal protective equipment required during site visits.
