Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of heavy haul and oversized load driving experience
- Valid Class A CDL
- Current DOT medical certification
- TWIC credential required
- Clean criminal background
- Acceptable driving history and MVR
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety practices
Qualified applicants should have hands-on experience with:
- Multi-axle trailer combinations
- Beam trailer configurations
- Lowboy and RGN trailers
- Stretch trailers
- Flat and deck trailer systems
- Specialized heavy haul setups up to 12 axles
- Oversize and overweight permit procedures
- Proper load securement techniques
- Axle weight distribution and scaling
- Route surveys and trip planning
- Escort coordination and travel restrictions
- State-by-state heavy haul compliance knowledge
- Experience hauling freight exceeding 140,000 lbs.
- Ability to identify equipment maintenance concerns
- Professional communication with customers and enforcement agencies
- Transport oversized freight safely and efficiently
- Perform detailed pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Ensure cargo is secured according to regulations and company standards
- Operate within approved permit routes and restrictions
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and escort personnel
- Maintain accurate logs and shipping documentation
- Operate equipment professionally and responsibly
