Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage origination programs with local growers, co-ops, and elevators
- Negotiate grain purchase, forward, and basis contracts to meet supply and margin targets
- Monitor grain markets, futures, and basis trends to inform trading strategies
- Coordinate logistics for inbound and outbound shipments and manage inventory positions
- Ensure grain quality standards and compliance with customer specifications
- Build and maintain relationships with producers, brokers, and key partners
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, logistics, and finance teams
- Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5 years of experience in grain merchandising, origination, or commodity trading
- Understanding of basis trading, risk management, and market fundamentals
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Experience with organic, non-GMO, or specialty grain markets preferred
- Ability to travel regionally and work extended hours during peak seasons
