The Employee Benefits Account Manager oversees a portfolio of small-group employee benefits clients, building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service throughout the account lifecycle. The Employee Benefits Account Manager oversees a portfolio of small-group employee benefits clients, building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service throughout the account lifecycle. This role acts as a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate benefit plan administration, renewals, enrollment activities, and ongoing service needs while supporting client retention and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for small employer benefits clients, resolving service and benefits-related inquiries.
- Manage annual renewals, including data gathering, quoting, plan analysis, and proposal preparation.
- Coordinate open enrollments and support employee communications and benefit enrollments.
- Process new business, employee changes, terminations, and qualifying life events.
- Resolve carrier, billing, claims, eligibility, and administrative issues.
- Advise clients on compliance, HR resources, wellness programs, market trends, and plan performance.
- Educate clients on benefit plans through presentations, webinars, and consultations.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities for ancillary and voluntary benefits.
- Maintain client records, support implementations, track service activities, and achieve retention goals.
- Partner with internal teams to deliver a seamless client experience and effective account management.
